End Game

No more deer.

Dad hunted 9 days, Doug: 6, and I hunted 5 days. 1 buck, no does. D'oh!

Nice time in the woods, though.

Appreciate it

Dad, Doug and I went hunting today. Not yet more deer.

Doug and I did quite a bit of hiking. We may have found a more promising area for Saturday. Doug and Dad will try yet another area tomorrow.

Doug and I walked down by the Wisconsin River. We saw a canoe-borne deer hunter.

A wonderful Thanksgiving feast at my parents, a "Yak-olympics" competition, and a birthday celebration for Michaela.

Dear Season

No deer at the shack. a good time, though.

Dad got a doe off Mrs. Butkus' land yesterday.

We went to Country Kitchen for Michaela's birthday yesterday.

Phil garnered us a free store-bought Christmas tree from a guy on his route who had extra.

Things are alright with me these days

Jamie & Kayla sang in the choir at church this morning (Jamie played the tambourine on the sending song), then they went sledding at Sirocka Field with Biolos. I cut up my slabwood. Shelly made spaghetti, and then she's going to an informal caretaking/counseling orientation at Bob's. Big football rivalry weekend wins.

Uncle Doug

Doug Baxter came up from Wausau for the weekend.

Three of us hunters cleaned the shack on Saturday: Doug, Dad, and I. We scouted the woods a bit, armed for grouse, looking for deer sign.
Sunday, the kids and I, with Phil and his son, picked up a truckload of slabwood for kindling from a guy that Pete Centner knows. And since our yard had the appropriate amount of storage facilities for a household without a truckload of slabwood, I built another shed this afternoon. Some people collect stamps, others whittle mallards, I build sheds.
