Shack excursion

Dad, Doug, the kids and I cleaned up the shack, sighted rifles, pursued game, found a geocache, and cooked lunch in the Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest.

It started snowing on our way home.

We popped some corn, played a board game, and watched a movie by the woodstove.

Then Sunday I fixed the starter solenoid in the car, and the kids and I placed a new geocache.

Strolling deer

I had a delivery today, back in the woods of Conover, where I had to wait for the consignee to show up with a cashier's check.

As I waited, I had visitors, probably a dozen, one - a spike buck.
After I froze still to get the first pictures, I realized they weren't fazed by me.
Still waiting for the check, I crouched down outside the truck to watch them. A large doe peeked her nose around the tree, took a few steps, turned, and repeatedly stomped at me.

Apparently, I had no business watching them.

Many visits

We went to the Pitterle's for Halloween.

(Michaela, Molly, Jamie, Peyton, Matthew)

Then we stopped out to Mom & Dad's.

This weekend, Grandma Milli, Aunt Sue & Uncle Dan, and Thad came up to Mom & Dad's. And The Gibson's and Doug came up to ours. We all got together in Crescent for a fish and brat fry. Afterwards Dave, Doug and I took Uncle Dan & Aunt Sue on a geocaching expedition.

First accumulating snow today.

Jamie and I built some shelves. (Thanks for the materials Tony.)
