Blue October
I've enjoyed hearing Into The Ocean by Blue October on the radio lately. I looked them up on YouTube. I recognized another popular song by them, Hate Me Now. I never paid attention to the lyrics to that one before. Powerful stories.

Westward ho!
Tony & Carmen and the kids are heading out now.
We said our long goodbyes and shared a last supper (the woman at Burger King was a little surprised at my order of 10 fish sandwiches) as they finished packing-up the last of their belongings last night. T&C were exhausted (and fighting a bug), but the kids had plenty of energy. Michaela & Jamie were going to say goodbye, and go to Wausau for gymnastics with Shelly, but when we got there, they realized they couldn't leave yet. We stayed a couple of hours, for one last, good play.

In order to help continually perfect our union
Danny sent me an email inviting me to join Unity08. I had just read about it for the first time today. Might as well give it a try. Here's what I added to the letters I sent on:
People working en masse has worked for the good of the party for a long time. Though now, it seems that the the good of the party, either major party, is not moving our country forward. It seems to me that the constant improvement, the good, of our nation is becoming stagnant as our "representatives" bicker over details important to their major financial backers.
We have the technology now to communicate instantaneously from almost anywhere. Let us gather together and use our capabilities to send an important message to the world: that there are free-thinking persons in the United States of America who wish to use our collective power for the greater good.

Military Road
I was asked to provide my "expert opinion" on driving Military Road in Three Lakes.

Kindred Souls
I was scanning some maps on the computer this afternoon for Dad, and listening to U2. I love the line in Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own - "You're the reason why the opera is in me." So I googled that line to see what others think about it. The second listing was a beautiful story from some woman's life.

My udder brudder's moving to Oregon
Tony & Carmen are moving to Oregon (along with Courtney, Alexa & Eli.)
The beans have been spilled.
Working with Danny & Cori, they found a community, a home, specifics on daycaring in Oregon and they will take one giant leap for mankind on the 24th.
McMinnville, a city of 30,000, does not get winter like us, they're an hour from the ocean and a half-hour from Portland. And an hour and a half from Danny & Cori.
Tony & Carmen are purchasing a brand new home in a western subdivision, and will be renting out the two homes that they own in Rhinelander, until they sell.
These nomads plan to keep in touch with hi-speed internet and webcams.
Sadness in distance. Big excitement to the west.

Cold again
More cold & snow. I broke the snowblower belt last Friday. Got a football in it. Replaced it tonight.
Geocaching treasure hunt is up and running. Daily News article about us last week. Michaela was in the Daily News for jump-rope fundraising, Jamie on another day for reading.
Dave & Nicky and their kids and Doug visited us this past weekend. Dave and Doug and I went geocaching around St. Germain. Saturday we went down to the Claridge to watch Pete & Joel play. Piano, guitar, singing.
Holy smokers! Busy days. Spring pretty soon?
