Rhinelander Polish Beer Stew

Polish sausage, rutabaga, cabbage, carrots, onion, potato, butter, Rhinelander Beer, garlic salt, celery salt, and pepper. Not bad.

October run

The Brewers are in the playoffs! I listened to Bob Uecker and Jim Powell bring me the news of the joy I haven't known since I was 12 years old. I was honking on the on-ramp after a pit-stop in Wittenberg when the final outs occurred. I had tears in my eyes as I rolled down 29. An exciting radio broadcast to be a part of.

Angels from the west

Got a lot of work done on the house this past weekend. Got a cold, too. Got to hunt a bit, also.

The major workday was Friday, when Tony, Dad, and Dad's friends John Sery and Paul Guibord helped me. Tony with plumbing and heating, of course. And the other fellas with yard work. What a blessing are friends and family for support.

Geese 'round here

Gave the cat a bath on Thursday.

Jamie & Kayla came over Friday. I rode my bike to Shelly's house, then the three of us rode back on the East River Trail. We picked some leaves for Kayla's science project on the way.

We went to Cranky Pat's for pizza - very good. Then we played Rock Band and watched the second Matrix movie (I edited slightly for content.)

In the morning, I made french toast and we checked out a couple of small parks: one a couple of blocks away, and a new one in Bellevue.

The kids went with Shelly to the Y for gymnastics and swimming, and I took Mary to Dave's brother's wedding. Inbetween the ceremony and reception, I rode my Nighthawk to find a geocache a little ways out of town. At around 9:30, I brought Mary and Sami & Logan home, and Jamie & Kayla arrived for a sleepover at the Gibson's.

This morning I awoke intending to read the Journal on the web, but I told myself, first I would put a link to it on my new webpage. The process provoking me to learn the new software and processes necessary to accomplish this task. It took a bit of googling, loading, setting, trialing and erroring; but a couple hours later, I opened the newspaper.

My new webpage: Way Leads on to Way (very rudimentary at this stage)

went to the libary yesterday

Stopped to see Michaela's gymnastics practice at the downtown Y. Jamie and Shelly were just finishing swimming. Jamie and I went to the downtown Brown Co. library (a block away) to get cards, we got one for Kayla, too. Then we went to Barnes & Noble, are you sensing a theme here? Kids came over for dinner, too.

Home

Jamie & Kayla and I went to Fleet Farm and got another motorcycle helmet. I gave them each a ride. We ate supper, then I helped Jamie with his math homework, and Kayla with a computer project.

Rollin' on

So,...

Last weekend, played horseshoes with Dickson's family. FIL and I and our kids camped out this year, so we got in the late cash round. Phil & Dickson's brother Rudy walked away richer. Excellent camping weather, especially for Labor Day weekend.

I took my motorcycle class this weekend. 100 on the written, did well on the road skills. I'm a fully licensed motorcycle rider.

Shelly had a party at Chuck E. Cheese's for Jamie, then we went to Hogan's to play music. I played bass. Lotsa fun.
